Introduction

Hi, It is nice to meet you all! My name is Chelsea Jno Baptiste, I am 23 years old and a recent transfer student to the University of California, Berkeley where I am currently majoring in Architecture. I am also an international student from the Caribbean Island of Dominica. However, I have been fortunate enough to have lived on  a few different Caribbean islands as well including in the British Virgin Islands on a small island called Virgin Gorda, only 8.5 square miles, for 10 years and the island of Jamaica, where I was previously studying Architecture for 3 years.

The course Visual Studies 185X Songs and Places, which i will be taking this fall is very interesting to me, I grew up playing the piano and though I haven't played in some time I can still read sheet music quite well. I love art. I have taken art classes all through my high school and college studies. In fact I was a high school Art, Mathematics and Science teacher in the BVI before beginning my studies in Architecture in Jamaica. 

I have two Associate degrees in Advanced Mathematics and English. I am also a published author of the book, The Missing Link: Ring of Life found on Amazon and kindle. Check it out if you get a chance!

I think this class will offer me the deep analysis of the creative art projects we will examine that can bring a new perspective to my designs in my studio classes. I look forward to sharing my work with all of you!
